Criss Cross

I remember when I saw my first dropped stitch scarf... The dropped stitches were crossed over one another. I tried to make it, and failed with my first attempt. Later, following the Crossover Stitch Scarf pattern, I was able to replicate part of the delicate nature I remembered. I was making this square for an afghan, so it isn't as delicate as I would do for a scarf... but the technique is the same.

The square I made myself with this variation of the dropped knit stitch.

How to Knit One Below

The book where I learned about the K1B stitch has already been named KPOTD, but I wanted to share with you a video I created on how to make the K1B stitch. I love this technique, and have incorporated it into some of my own knitting designs. Hopefully this video will make the K1B stitch easy to understand!

Wavy Dropped Stitches

I am dedicating today to wavy dropped stitches. Kate at One More Thing has created one of the most creative uses of dropped stitches I've ever seen. My varying the number of YO's you make between stitches, you are able to create waves in the fabric. I would love to make the entire scarf. Well done, Kate!

I knit this square as part of the Pine Street Inn Knit-a-Thon

Dropped Stitches

I love knitting with intentional dropped stitches. Not only does the project go faster, but the final product has a modern, yet lacy feel to it. I created the video to help explain to my readers how to make this fun stitch.
